Geo-Jade, a Chinese oil and gas company, has secured the development rights for the Jabal Sanam oil field in southern Iraq. The contract was awarded as part of Iraq's ongoing efforts to boost oil production through its exploration and development bidding rounds. The Jabal Sanam field, located in Muthanna province, holds significant exploration potential, with neighboring fields confirming the area's rich oil reserves. The deal, signed in late October 2024, is a key step in Geo-Jade's strategy to expand its footprint in the Middle East, complementing its other projects in Iraq, including the Naft Khana and Huwaiza blocks
