MGT602 – Entrepreneurship

This course nurtures entrepreneurial thinking by taking students through the complete startup lifecycle — from idea generation to business launch. Students begin by exploring the psychological and behavioral traits of entrepreneurs, creativity techniques, and opportunity identification. They then learn to conduct feasibility studies, including market research, competitive analysis, and financial forecasting. The Business Model Canvas is introduced as a tool to define key components like customer segments, value propositions, channels, and revenue streams. Students also write comprehensive business plans, practice elevator pitches, and explore funding sources including bootstrapping, venture capital, angel investors, and crowdfunding. Case studies of both successful and failed startups are analyzed for practical insights. Legal aspects such as business registration, intellectual property, contracts, and compliance are covered. Emphasis is placed on scaling, pivoting, and managing innovation in dynamic environments. Learning Outcomes: Graduates will be equipped to start their own ventures, contribute to startups, or lead innovation in established firms.
